A 56-year-old convicted child rapist had reporting restrictions lifted by the High Court on 11 November 2020 after pleading guilty to repeated rape and sexual assault at the Central Criminal Court.
The offences involved his wife’s two sons at their home over 10 years from 1993, when they were under 10. Mr Justice Tony Hunt said the order was in the public interest after reviewing the adult victims’ repeated wishes to be identified.
The order was stayed for 28 days pending a Court of Appeal application. The man had received a 21-year prison term in March 2016, with the final five years suspended.
