The Labour Court recommended that Tallaght University Hospital and 72 Nurses seek intervention from a Joint Review Group over proposed changes to Renal Department opening hours. Its recommendation was dated 27 February 2026. The hospital proposed extending operating hours to increase dialysis treatment-bay availability and patient access. The nurses, represented by the Irish Nurses & Midwives Organisation, raised concerns about late-night and early-morning travel and said the roster changes should go through the agreed Joint Review process. The hospital said most staff knew of the proposed hours when hired and that 62 workers had contract clauses it considered binding them to the revised rosters. After both sides confirmed local negotiations had been exhausted, the Court recommended moving to stage two of the dispute-resolution process. The matter will go to a Joint Review Group.
