The Labour Court recommended that, subject to acceptance of the Workplace Relations Commission proposals, revised pay scales be introduced in full for all covered grades from 1 August 2025. The recommendation followed a dispute between the HSE National Ambulance Service and 1,800 paramedics represented by SIPTU and Unite the Union. The unions opposed phasing and sought retrospective payment; the employer had proposed phasing paramedic scales between August 2025 and January 2028. The Court did not recommend retrospective payment and said the pay scales and other issues were linked. Its recommendation was signed on 15 July 2025.
