The Labour Court recommended that the HSE and 200 Workers represented by FÓRSA Trade Union engage fully on implementing a higher-remuneration review outcome that has been outstanding since 2007. The recommendation was signed on 1 February 2024. The dispute concerned the exclusion of senior public-sector health-service managers from payment of an award recommended by the Review Body on Higher Remuneration in the Public Service. The Court said there was no dispute that the review outcome should be implemented; the disagreement concerned timing and where the parties should discuss it. The Court recommended including the matter in talks on a successor public-service pay agreement to Building Momentum. If it remained unresolved, it should return to the WRC and, if conciliation failed, go to the Labour Court under section 26(1) of the Industrial Relations Act 1990.
