Labour Court recommends pay increases for 25 Bidvest Noonan workers

The Labour Court recommended pay increases for 25 Bidvest Noonan workers, represented by Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, at St Patrick's Hospital: 1% from 1 January 2021, 2% from 1 January 2022 and 2% from 1 January 2023. The recommendation was signed on 15 August 2023. The union, represented by Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, said the workers had received no pay increase in 15 years and that waiting until the client contract ended in 2026 was not sustainable. Bidvest Noonan, represented by Irish Business and Employers' Confederation, argued the workers' transferred pay and conditions were better than those of colleagues and that the client contract made no provision for increases. The Court recommended discussions about linking future increases to contract-cleaning Employment Regulation Orders, without necessarily applying them in full.
