The Labour Court found no breach of the registered employment agreement in Dublin Airport Authority’s appointment of six Airport Police Duty Managers to shift work. Its recommendation was signed on 3 August 2012. Services Industrial Professional Technical Union argued that the shift arrangement altered the agreement and impinged on the Police Sergeant grade’s role. The Authority said the posts were needed for proper command procedures. The Court said no provision showing a breach had been identified and recognised management’s right to decide the airport’s policing structure.
