The Labour Court recommended that I O Systems Ltd and CWU implement agreed cost-saving terms at An Post mailing centres from 1 January 2011. The recommendation was signed on 22 December 2010. An Post had required I O Systems Ltd to reduce its charges by €375,000. The settlement ended the meal allowance at provincial centres, set savings figures for technician redundancies and flexibilities, reduced shift premiums by 4% at provincial centres and 3% for eight-hour shift technicians at the Dublin Mailing Centre, and introduced a 2% salary cut for operations staff across four centres. Revised flexible cover arrangements increased the proposed staff benefit from €50,000 to €56,250.
