The Labour Court recommended that St John’s Hospital reconsider introducing flexible attendance for about 80 administrative and clerical staff in 2011, taking account of circumstances at that time. The recommendation was signed on 24 March 2010. The Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union sought a flexitime system, which could be paper-based or electronic. Hospital management said setup costs were prohibitive and preferred an electronic system, but had no discretionary funding available.
