The Labour Court recommended that any further claim over a meal allowance in the Daa Shannon Restructuring Agreement be limited to workers who were not redeployed to higher-paid positions. The recommendation was signed on 13 July 2009. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union argued that all catering staff redeployed under the agreement should be covered by a further claim. Management said it should apply only to staff not moved to higher-paid positions. The Court upheld Management’s interpretation. Daa Shannon said the workers had received €16,000 compensation under the agreement.
