The Labour Court recommended that Element Six Limited offer one further week of pay to settle a dispute over short-time working in January 2009. Services Industrial Professional Technical Union represented workers seeking payment for days they attended when not rostered. The recommendation was signed on 8 June 2009. The company said it had told the union that workers should not attend on unrostered days and cited trading difficulties. The union said workers had been facilitated by supervisors and completed essential work. The affected staff had already received full payment for one of the four weeks. The Court recommended that the company make a further week's payment and that the union accept it as full and final settlement, saying each side bore some responsibility for what happened.
