The Labour Court recommended that Tipperary Mushrooms offer, and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union accept, €200 for each of five former employees in full and final settlement of claims relating to the Sustaining Progress pay agreement. The recommendation was signed on 2 July 2007. SIPTU sought the agreement's final 2.5% pay phase, saying the company had not established grounds for withholding it. The company said it had reached an inability-to-pay agreement with SIPTU. The Court noted that the five workers were not represented in those negotiations and could not benefit from the agreement. Tipperary Mushrooms had ceased trading and the workers had been made redundant.
