In 2004, the Labour Court recommended adjusting Teagasc's relocation payment for each additional mile by reference to average increases in civil service mileage rates, using 1990 as the base year. The recommendation was signed on 22 December 2004. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union, and AMICUS sought €333 per additional mile; Teagasc offered €102. The Court recommended paying the resulting amount as a single lump sum and made no other adjustment to Teagasc's offer.
