In 2004, the Labour Court recommended against a worker’s claim for incremental credit for private-sector experience and research work. The recommendation was dated 15 December 2004. The worker, a senior dietician at Mid Western Health Board, sought credit for earlier private-sector work and research at Dublin Institute of Technology. The Board said the experience did not meet the rules for incremental progression and that research was not clinical experience. The Court accepted that the Health Board had correctly applied the rules governing incremental credit for previous service and did not recommend in favour of the claim.
