The Labour Court recommended that Nestors Supervalu’s claims over pay rates, sick pay and Good Friday work be put on hold and raised again in April 2005. The company accepted that any concession could take effect from 29 September 2003. The recommendation was dated 31 May 2004. Mandate sought new pay scales, a sick-pay scheme and voluntary Good Friday work with an extra paid day off. Nestors Supervalu said it was trading at a loss and that concessions could put jobs at risk. The Court took the company’s trading position into account in recommending a deferral.
