Labour Court recommends 3% payment from November 2002 at Whelans

In 2003, the Labour Court recommended that Whelans pay the 3% first phase of Sustaining Progress from 1 November 2002. The recommendation followed a claim by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union that the increase should apply from that date. The Court found that Whelans had paid the first phase of the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness from 1 February 2000, making the 3% payment due 33 months later. The recommendation was signed on 15 December 2003.
