Labour Court rejects fixed payment claim but recommends talks on meal allowance

In 2002, the Labour Court recommended that C & C Ireland Limited and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union hold talks over two drivers' lost meal allowance after redeployment to warehouse work. The Court did not recommend the separate fixed payment claim. The recommendation said the Court had seen no evidence that the meal allowance was bought out by agreement. The fixed payment claim was not recommended because the Court was not satisfied the drivers had been treated less favourably than employees in previous settlements. It was signed on 19 December 2002.
