In 2002, the Labour Court recommended that the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union accept the application of LCR17116, as improved by Irish Ferries, in settlement of its claim over annual leave for two members who moved to the Jonathan Swift fast ferry service. The recommendation was signed on 12 December 2002. The union said the members understood their leave would not be reduced. Irish Ferries said the transfers were voluntary and that it would compensate staff for any reduction in leave.
