The Labour Court recommended against a travel allowance claim by non-nursing ward attendants, care staff and household staff at Royal Hospital Donnybrook. The recommendation was signed on 27 June 2000. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought an allowance on the basis that it was paid at other voluntary hospitals. The Court said Royal Hospital Donnybrook’s structure and working practices had developed differently, and recommended a central mechanism for coordinating personnel issues with cross-hospital implications.
