In 1998, the Labour Court recommended that Jury's Hotel increase its offer to workers to 3% under a pay claim brought by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The increase would take effect from acceptance of the recommendation, dated 30 March 1998. The company had offered 2% as part of a package that included changes to room servicing and seasonal hours, plus the Jury's Group pension scheme. The union had sought a 3% increase, partly retrospective to April 1992. The Court recommended implementing the other elements of the company's offer as well.
