Labour Court recommends £250 compensation for worker in National Radio Cabs pay dispute

The Labour Court recommended that National Radio Cabs pay a worker £250 in compensation after finding she had been treated unfairly. The recommendation was signed on 19 December 1996. The worker said a pay rise promised after one year’s service was not paid and that a colleague doing similar work earned £32 more a week. National Radio Cabs rejected the claims, saying she had received raises and that it would consider a further increase in 1997. The Court said the company needed a transparent and fair salary structure and found that its absence had led to unfair treatment. The worker was no longer employed there.
