In 1994, the Labour Court clarified its earlier recommendation to Comer International and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union on redundancies, bonus arrangements and workplace changes. The clarification was signed on 12 April 1994. The Court recommended an offer of three weeks' pay per year of service, including statutory entitlement, and urged the parties to keep necessary redundancies to a minimum. It also said the £58.20 bonus payment at 100% performance should continue until increases in basic pay brought the bonus in line with one-third of basic pay. The recommendation envisaged a six-month trial and review.
