Labour Court sets 1 July date for ambulance drivers’ pay balance

The Labour Court recommended that the balance due to ambulance drivers be paid from 1 July 1994, provided outstanding productivity measures, including rosters and access, were in place by then. The recommendation was signed on 24 February 1994. The dispute between the Eastern Health Board and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union followed an earlier recommendation on a revised salary scale. The sides had accepted that recommendation but disagreed on when the balance should be paid.
