The Labour Court recommended applying national pay agreement increases to an offer for advisers employed by the Irish Pre-School Playgroups Association, while rejecting a union claim for social worker pay scales. The recommendation was dated 31 May 1993. The Irish Municipal Public And Civil Trade Union had sought parity with social worker scales for the national and regional advisers. The Court said the Association had not shown that increases under the Programme for National Recovery or the Programme for Economic and Social Progress had been applied, and recommended those increases be applied to its offer.
