In 1993, the Labour Court recommended that Dublin Airport Restaurant and Services Industrial Professional Technical Union negotiate a modified rate for new staff at the Burger King outlet for one year, then review it against trading results. The company had proposed £2.50 an hour for unfilled posts; the union argued that a higher rate was affordable. The recommendation was dated 6 April 1993.
