Labour Court recommends clearer incremental credit rules at University College Galway

The Labour Court recommended that University College Galway clarify the criteria for granting incremental credit to new appointees, and that the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union accept an offer of an extra increment for a secretarial/clerical assistant. The Court found no established policy for crediting previous experience, while the college acknowledged that it sometimes granted credit using vague criteria. It considered the college’s offer of an additional increment from 1 January 1991 reasonable. The recommendation was signed on 27 November 1992.
