The Labour Court did not recommend that Irish Sugar PLC concede a union claim for compensation for three drivers whose clock-in base moved from Thurles back to Killough. The recommendation was dated 17 December 1991. Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said the change increased the drivers’ travel costs and inconvenience. The company said Killough was their official base and that changing business needs required their return. The Court agreed Killough was and remained their official base and did not recommend concession of the claim.
