In 1991, the Labour Court recommended that executive assistant grade 1 staff at Teagasc enter the grade 3/EO scale at £15,344 a year from 1 July 1990, progressing to £15,837 in April 1991 and £16,235 in April 1992. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought assimilation at corresponding points on the new scale. Teagasc said the transfer would preserve existing salaries and allow incremental progression. The Court recommended the higher starting point and the stated progression.
