The Labour Court recommended that the Irish Bank Officials' Association accept National Irish Investment Bank's Stage 3 Programme for National Recovery offer, which ran until 28 February 1991. The recommendation was signed on 1 November 1990. The Association sought a 5% salary increase for 12 months, citing profitability and workers’ cooperation with change. The Bank said its offer was in line with current norms and that higher increases could not be justified amid business difficulties. The Court found no grounds to depart from the Programme for National Recovery.
