The Labour Court found that Leisure Corporation Group unfairly dismissed a worker during probation, saying the company had put forward no reasonable grounds for the dismissal. In its recommendation dated 18 September 1990, the Court said the company should ensure the worker received a week’s pay in lieu of notice. The worker had started as an executive assistant in April 1990. The company said she was unsuitable for the role and had not built good working relationships with staff. It later told the Court that it had paid a week’s wages in lieu of notice.
