In 1990, the Labour Court recommended a further 12-month trial of the Maynard Operation Sequence Technique at Thermo King Europe, with attention to workers’ concerns about studies conducted under ideal conditions. The recommendation was signed on 1 August 1990. The Amalgamated Engineering Union said workers found the video equipment disconcerting and that the studies did not reflect everyday operations. Thermo King Europe said the technique was important to developing its operations. The Court said the trial had not eased employee concerns or established the expected benefits.
