The Labour Court recommended that Castle Oaks House Hotel compensate a receptionist with one month’s salary after finding the employer had not shown substantial grounds to justify her dismissal. The worker had been employed from April 1989. She said there was no just cause for her dismissal apart from a clash with the new general manager, and that the hotel had complimented her work. The hotel said she had been warned about her attitude and that the conflict created tension among staff. The recommendation was signed on 30 November 1989. The hotel also undertook to pay outstanding pay in lieu of notice.
