Labour Court backs three-day suspension for Dublin Cargo docker

By Saoirse Doyle

Place: no local area assigned from the source.

The Labour Court recommended that a docker at Dublin Cargo Handling Limited accept an arbitrator's decision reducing his suspension from two weeks to three days. The Court found no fundamental breach of the agreement that would justify setting aside the arbitrator's decision. The Irish Transport And General Workers Union had challenged the suspension after the worker refused a crane instruction on safety grounds. The recommendation was signed on 18 April 1989.
