The Labour Court recommended that suspensions of 12 workers at the Central Bank Of Ireland be lifted and that normal work resume. The recommendation, involving Manufacturing Science And Finance, was signed on 31 January 1989. The Court recommended that negotiations restart immediately. If the sides had not reached agreement by 10 February, it said both should refer the substantive issues to the Court for investigation and recommendation. The dispute had been discussed at a conciliation conference on 25 January before referral for a full hearing.
