In 1988, the Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Irish Transport And General Workers' Union's claim over Dublin Bus's release of temporary conductors. The recommendation was signed on 21 December 1988. The Court found that fixed-term recruitment did not breach LCR11799 but did breach established custom and practice, so Dublin Bus should have sought union agreement before introducing the contracts. It said the proposal would likely have been considered reasonable had it been referred at that stage.
