The Labour Court recommended that Acot pay £10,000 in outstanding 1986 travel expenses claimed for 32 Agricultural Development Officers represented by the Federated Workers Union Of Ireland. The recommendation was signed on 29 June 1988. The union said the expenses were legitimate and incurred in carrying out the officers’ work. Acot said staff had been warned not to exceed travel budgets without prior approval. The Court noted that the expenses were vouched as properly incurred in the officers’ duties.
