In 1987, the Labour Court declined to recommend a second deputy ward sister post sought by Itgwu at St. Peter's Centre, run by Midland Health Board. It said the claim was properly before it but would not recommend conceding it. The Court recommended that Itgwu await local discussions on permanent appointments for five temporary nurses and refer the claim back if no agreement was reached by 30 September 1987. The recommendation was signed on 27 April 1987.
