WRC recommends no further action on retired bus driver’s disputes

The WRC recommended no further action on a retired bus driver’s disputes about holiday scheduling and disciplinary warnings. Adjudication Officer Catherine Byrne dated the recommendation on 9 October 2025. The worker said he could not choose when to take accumulated leave and that confusion over his return date led to a disciplinary sanction. The employer said it had issued written warnings for unauthorised absences, which the worker had not appealed. The WRC found no substance in his claims and said concerns about the warnings should have been raised before his employment ended. It recommended that the worker treat the disputes as closed.
