The Workplace Relations Commission recommended that an employer pay a worker €1,750 after delays in arranging an alternative work location. The recommendation was dated 20 February 2024. The worker, a clerical officer employed since 2000, said an earlier grievance outcome identifying an alternative location, working from home or a blended arrangement had not been implemented. The employer said it had created a suitable role at the alternative location and that time was needed to prepare the workspace, equipment and job description. The adjudication officer accepted that the delay caused considerable distress and upheld the dispute. The recommendation provides for the employer to pay €1,750 in full and final settlement within four weeks.
