Labour Court awards Anatol Lysiak €1,000 for Sunday work

Labour Court ·

The Labour Court ordered O’Leary International Limited to pay international truck driver Anatol Lysiak €1,000 for requiring him to work Sundays without showing that this was reflected in his pay. The determination was signed on 19 September 2016. The Court also awarded Lysiak €500 because the company failed to give 24 hours’ notice of his daily start and finish times, and €250 each for breaches affecting his public holiday and annual leave pay. It found the minimum-wage shortfall also meant those payments fell below his statutory entitlements.
