Labour Court upholds €5,000 award to Sergejs Udalous on employer appeal

The Labour Court upheld the €5,000 award to Sergejs Udalous after Southeast Vegetables Producers Ltd appealed the amount. The determination was dated 30 January 2013. A Rights Commissioner had awarded Udalous compensation for breaches of the Organisation of Working Time Act, 1997. The employer appealed the decision, and Udalous cross-appealed the award amount, but withdrew his appeal at the start of the Labour Court hearing. The employer’s appeal proceeded on the amount only. The Labour Court found no reason to interfere with the Rights Commissioner’s decision and affirmed it.
