The Labour Court increased compensation for Marchmont Packaging Ltd worker Jerzg Gebicki to €3,000 after finding the company breached working-time rules. The determination was signed on 2 April 2012. The case listing spells his name Jerzg Gebicki; the determination text spells it Jerzy Gebicki. Mr Gebicki appealed a Rights Commissioner decision over daily rest, breaks, 10 consecutive days of work without a break, and notice of overtime. Marchmont did not deny the alleged breaches, saying business needs required departures from the Act. The Court found the Act had been contravened as alleged and found all four complaints well founded. It amended the earlier decision, increased the compensation award to €3,000 and directed the company to comply with the Act.
