The Labour Court found Mandate's appeal under the Pensions Act, 1990, met the 42-day filing requirement. The determination was signed on 17 November 1998. Mandate had appealed over an Equality Officer recommendation that six female employees be allowed access to a pension scheme. The Technical, Engineering And Electrical Union said it accepted the recommendation and that staff could apply to join. The Court noted two members of Mandate had not yet applied for access.
