Labour Court appeal fails after complainant misses hearing

The Labour Court appeal by Mr Bryan Power failed after he did not attend the hearing to move it. The Court upheld the original decision that his complaint against Integer/Integer New Ross was not well founded; the merits were not decided at the appeal hearing. The decision was dated 4 December 2023. Mr Power had asked to postpone the hearing, saying he had suffered a panic attack. The employer objected, saying it was ready to proceed and three witnesses had travelled to attend. The Court refused postponement, noting Mr Power had confirmed his attendance and that the case had already faced delays.
