The Labour Court dismissed Roger Terence Tallis’s appeal on 14 November 2018, leaving in place the finding that his complaint against National Support Services Limited was not well-founded. Tallis said his employment as a part-time cleaner was terminated because he raised concerns with his employer’s client representative about a security guard working for another contractor. National Support Services denied penalising him, saying he was dismissed during probation for persistent underperformance. The Court found Tallis had not disclosed information to a member of An Garda Síochána or given notice of an intention to do so. It also found the matter he raised did not relate to a relevant offence under the Criminal Justice Act 2011. The appeal failed.
