The Workplace Relations Commission has ordered Brian MacDonnell t/a Old MacDonnells Farm to pay production manager Paul Sunderland €4,140 in lieu of minimum notice. The decision was dated 21 August 2026. Sunderland said the business closed suddenly without notice and he was not paid his entitlement. MacDonnell did not dispute that minimum notice payment was owed, but said the business lacked the funds to pay. The adjudication officer found that Sunderland’s 11 years and eight months of service entitled him to six weeks’ notice.
