The Workplace Relations Commission found Aleksandrs Fjodorovs’s complaint against Avoca Handweavers Shops Limited Retail, Cafe not well founded. Adjudication Officer Donal Moore dated the decision 9 April 2025. Fjodorovs alleged that a workplace investigation, disciplinary process and failed appeal amounted to penalisation under safety legislation. The company argued that he had not identified a protected act or shown a connection between one and the process, which ended with a final written warning upheld on appeal. Moore said the referral did not give him jurisdiction to reinvestigate the workplace process itself. He found Fjodorovs could not identify a protected act or provide evidence linking one to the disciplinary process.
