The Workplace Relations Commission found Javier Osorio’s complaint against Cognizant Technology Solutions Ireland Limited over its handling of his remote-working request was not well-founded. The decision, by adjudication officer Catherine Byrne, was dated 2 December 2024. Osorio sought to work remotely most days, but the company said the client project required in-person attendance and offered a possible move to another project. Byrne found the request had been properly considered, while also finding the company took eight weeks to reply instead of four and did not notify him in writing that it was extending the response period. In the circumstances, she dismissed the complaint.
