The Workplace Relations Commission said it lacked jurisdiction over Gemma Cuffe’s complaint about collective redundancy consultation at Oxendales & Co Ltd. The decision was dated 24 July 2024. Cuffe said she was made redundant from her Financial Services Operations Manager role and later saw a similar role advertised. The company said she was the only person made redundant among 19 staff. The officer found the collective redundancy threshold was not met: the law required at least five dismissals within 30 days at an establishment with more than 20 and fewer than 50 employees. The merits were not decided.
