The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Cihan Karaagac, trading as Cleaboy Turkish Barber, to pay former employee Farman Mamand Saleh €2,200 for unpaid annual leave. The WRC decision was dated 28 May 2024. Saleh said he had never received holiday pay, apart from an extra €20 on one occasion, and had not been paid a full week’s wages while on holiday. Karaagac said he paid Saleh €110 a day, more than they had agreed, and accepted that he had not paid holiday pay. The adjudication officer found that Saleh was entitled to annual leave pay for 2022/2023 and that the complaint was well founded. The law requires an employer to compensate a worker for accrued annual leave that remains unpaid when employment ends.
