A WRC adjudication officer found Pm Purchasing Services Limited failed to provide Deborah Maher with the minimum notice due and awarded her €1,488. The decision was dated 29 January 2024. Maher worked for the company from June 2010 until her employment ended after it ceased trading in May 2023. She earned €372 gross a week and sought four weeks’ notice. The company accepted that notice was due but argued it could deduct a €900 holiday overpayment from 2022. The officer said there was no written contract term allowing the deduction and rejected taking the alleged overpayment from Maher’s statutory notice entitlement. The complaint under the Minimum Notice & Terms of Employment Act was found well founded; the award represented four weeks of gross wages.
